Madison County is a gem in the heart of New York State, with a rich history and scenic vistas. With Oneida Lake as our northern border, 14 other lakes, the Erie Canal, and many square miles of publicly-owned land, we have a wealth of opportunities for outdoor recreation, while shoppers find bargains in the antique shops and specialty stores scattered along our roadways and in our charming villages. The county is particularly rich in hunting and fishing locations.
Agriculture has traditionally been our economic base, but you'd be surprised at the variety of business activity in our area. We have high technology companies, manufacturers, inventors and entrepreneurs, artists and craftspeople.
